We hope this video will help you to quickly log food so that you can get the most benefit from using this feature in the app.

The goal for food logging is to log food before you eat. That way you can see how the item you would like to eat will impact your Nutu Score or it can help you decide between items so that you make the healthiest choice for you.

The Nutu database has over 1 million items to choose from. We've broken it down into two categories: home meals and restaurants. In home meals you'll find everyday grocery items and you can even look up healthy recipes for you to make at home.

Tap on the cuisine of the food you like to make and select a recipe:

I'm going to pick French for the category, and I'll select the spinach quiche.

This food item has a Nutu Score, traffic light, and nutrition facts.

The Nutu Score will indicate the number that will impact your score. It is +31. Your score will increase by 31. The color in the background will show you where you will land. If it's green you'll stay in balance, yellow just out of balance, and this one is red which means out of balance.

Don't worry, we have modifications and physical activity adjustments you can make to have a healthier meal.

You'll see high level nutrition information for the food.

If you tap on the down arrow, you'll see the nutrition information for the food item. You'll see color coding based on the amount of fat, saturated fat, salt, added sugar, and fiber.

This coding will determine the traffic light for the food item.

If you scroll all the way down, you'll see the instructions on how to prepare that quiche.

You'll see traffic light indications for different food items. Green, being consume, yellow, consume on occasion, and red, consume less often.

You can search for items by typing in a word, using a barcode scanner, or even using the microphone to say the food.

"Oatmeal"

If we don't have the specific item you're looking for in our database we encourage you to select a similar food item.

Be sure to tap on the heart icon for your favorite foods.

You can also create your own recipes which will receive its own Nutu Score.

Tap on the cuisine type and then the plus sign to create your own recipe.

Under my meals you can see your favorite foods, recipes you've created and history for even faster logging.

In the restaurants tab you can search by cuisine and select one of the national chain restaurants to choose from. Once you find the restaurant, we hope you look up items to help you decide what the healthiest option is for you.

You have the option to modify portion sizes too.

We know food logging takes time but once you get into the practice of doing this, it should become easier.

We hope to be your source of information before you eat.
